History
The Jigsaw Group started in May 2005 with eight dairy farmers brought
together by Robert Cope, an independent nutrition consultant. Buying
together made massive savings on various inputs and the group rapidly
grew to forty members in a period of eighteen months.
The massive savings on the evaluated products are supported by
Independent advice. This includes:
- Monthly contact to review herd performance
- Rations and advice to meet your objectives
- Forage advice and analyses
- Production forecasting for budgeting, quota and your milk buyer
- Dairy costings
 Robert Cope, an independent nutrition consultant, provides the
advice. With over twenty years experience of dairy cow nutrition,
Robert plies his trade on the dairy farm. He takes the forage sample,
evaluates the cow potential and advises on how to achieve the required
results.
Rations are prepared after inspecting the forage, cow condition,
genetic potential and the feeding system. Taken into account are
the milk buyer's requirements, plus any restrictions such as buildings
and labour.
Results are monitored through milk yield, milk constituents, dry
matter intakes, rumen fill, cow condition change, lactation curves
and cow faeces.
The Interherd software programme is available to download herd recording information for performance evaluation.
 Robert specialises on feeding for fertility. He has conducted fertility
trials with fats and oils.
Robert is a regular contributor of nutritional articles to British
Dairying and is an Associate Consultant of Kingshay Farming Trust. |
